American Capital has provided advice to governments, manager and employee groups on the implementation of employee ownership and employee buyouts and privatizations. Our principals have been engaged in a range of international projects, including:

Kenya

We assisted the World Bank in implementing an ambitious employee ownership program in conjuction with the privatization on a successful state-sponsored financial institution.

South Africa

We worked with several South African based investment funds. American Capital advised on the spin-off of the African Life Company from Anglo-American Corporation to a consortium of black, church, and cooperative financial institutions.

Slovenia

Roland Cline, American Capital Principal and Managing Director, has provided on-site investment banking services for a Slovene firm engaged in restructuring and privatizing Eastern European enterprises.

Argentina

We assisted in the initial formulation of the Argentina's 1992 privatization initiative and served as advisors to the Argentine government on the privatization of Edenor and Edesur, the electric distribution networks serving the province of Buenos Aires.
