American Capital Announces the Combination of Three Portfolio Companies

Bethesda, MD – April 1, 2009 – American Capital Ltd. (Nasdaq: ACAS) announced today that it has completed the combination of three portfolio companies within its Financial Services Group to create Core Financial Group, a diversified commercial finance holding company.  The strategic combination brings together Core Business Credit ("Core"), an asset-based lender, Velocity Financial Group ("Velocity"), a venture debt finance and middle market equipment leasing company, and Oceana Media Finance ("Oceana"), a film finance company.  Each company will maintain its market presence under its current name while benefiting from the strong capitalization and synergies resulting from the combination. American Capital Commits $100 Million to Oceana Media Finance

Bethesda, MD – June 28, 2007 – American Capital Strategies Ltd. (Nasdaq:ACAS) announced today that it and an affiliate have committed $100 million in equity capital to Oceana Media Finance LLC, a newly-formed specialty finance company that provides asset-backed secured financing for the production and marketing of independently produced feature films.  American Capital Equity Fund I LLC, a fund managed by American Capital, provided 30% of the American Capital equity investment.  Oceana Media Finance’s management team is also investing equity in the Company. American Capital Invests $125 Million in Velocity Financial Group

Bethesda, MD – June 21, 2007 – American Capital Strategies Ltd. (Nasdaq:ACAS) announced today that it and an affiliate have invested $125 million in Velocity Financial Group Inc., a newly formed specialty finance company that will provide equipment financing and working capital to middle market and venture-backed companies.  American Capital’s investment takes the form of senior subordinated debt and preferred equity.  American Capital Equity Fund I LLC, a fund managed by American Capital, provided 30% of the American Capital equity investment.  Velocity Financial Group’s management is investing alongside American Capital.[more...]
