Frank Do

Managing Director, Buyouts

Frank Do joined American Capital as a Principal in the Los Angeles office in 2002 and was promoted to Managing Director and head of the office in 2004. Mr. Do is currently responsible for the firm’s West Coast buyout practice. He has more than seventeen years of private equity experience with total invested capital of over $1 billion. Prior to joining American Capital, Mr. Do was General Partner at Westar Capital, a private equity firm based in Southern California. Before that, he was a Principal at Chase Capital Partners (now JP Morgan Partners/CCMP Capital). His investment experience includes venture capital, growth equity, leveraged recapitalizations, middle market buyouts, and mezzanine debt. Mr. Do has experience investing in a broad range of industries, including consumer products, information services, specialty retailing, basic industrial, value-added distribution, healthcare services, medical devices, and capital goods.

Mr. Do holds a B.A. in Economics and International Relations from Claremont McKenna College and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.
