David Ehrenfest Steinglass

Managing Director, Asia

David Steinglass joined American Capital in September 1997 and is one of the longest-tenured investment professionals in the firm. Mr. Steinglass joined the investment committee in 2004. Beginning in 2006, he has also shared responsibility for American Capital's private fundraising activities and in that capacity was instrumental in raising $1.6 billion for American Capital Equity I and II. He has recently returned to our Bethesda, Maryland-based buyout team after a three-year posting in Hong Kong, where he was and continues to be responsible for all American Capital activities in Asia, including capital raising, portfolio company expansion and investment operations.

Prior to joining American Capital, Mr. Steinglass was a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Leonard B. Sand in the Southern District of New York. He holds an A.B, magna cum laude, from Harvard College and a J.D, magna cum laude, from New York University Law School.
