Alex Morey

Director, UK Buyouts

Alex joined European Capital in 2006 as a Director in the UK Buyout Team. Alex was formerly a Director at CSFB Private Equity, which he joined in 1996. At CSFB Private Equity, Alex was responsible for the origination, execution, monitoring and realisation of UK and European buyouts.

Recent investments include the €2.3 billion acquisition of Dynamit Nobel and its merger with Rockwood Holdings, which has successfully exited by flotation on the NYSE and the €1.2 billion acquisition of Nycomed, which has also attained a successful exit through a sale to another private equity firm.

Alex has served on the Boards of numerous portfolio companies in the UK, Europe and the US ranging in size from start-ups to revenues of over $3 billion.

Prior to his time at CSFB Private Equity, Alex was with Arthur Andersen Corporate Finance which he joined in 1993 and where he advised on UK buyouts. Previously, he worked with Price Waterhouse in the corporate finance team which he joined in 1988 and where he qualified as aChartered Accountant in 1991.
